Insurance companies covering payment for AI enabled coronary plaque analysis is a big step forward in the non-invasive assessment of heart disease.

“Cardiovascular imaging AI firm Elucid’s image analysis software PlaqueIQ will now be covered by United Healthcare.  A new guideline released by the insurer now includes coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) plaque quantification and specifically refers to PlaqueIQ, the company said. Coverage will apply to all United Healthcare plans beginning October 1.”
